(More customer reviews)I purchased the WC-DC58N along with the adapter converter LA-DC58G. At first I was very disappointed because each of the corners were rounded off, making for a vignetted effect. Then I read the manual that came with my Canon A710 where it instructed to turn on a Converter setting on the camera using the Menu AND remove the small ring on the LA-DC58G. Now the photos look great and no black around the edges. The lens is larger than I expected but it should do a great job at taking inside shots of rooms (with no flash) which is why I purchased it.

Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro Large Aperture Wide Angle Lens for Canon SLR Cameras Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted a wide angle prime lens that I could take to parties where the shooting distance is always about the same and I could get higher quality pictures than with zoom lenses. Since this lens is fast, f/1.8, it focuses very quickly even in low light. It doesn't have an ultrasonic focusing mechanism, but focus speed is very fast and it has a clutch focusing ring so I can hold the lens and not interfere with the rotation of the focusing ring. The body feels very tight and well put together. The texture and feel are perfect. Picture quality is extremely good. The colors are natural and it's very sharp at 1.8 and is even better at 2.0 and above. Macro is excellent and since it has 9 curved aperature blades, the bokeh looks very pleasing. There is almost no distortion or abberation and focus is accurate. So even though this lens is a bit bigger and heavier than I would like in a prime lens like this, the benefits of brighter viewfinder (due to f/1.8), extemely sharp pictures and very good build quality makes it worthwhile purchase (especially for the price).

(More customer reviews)Would have received "0" if I could rate it that way. My Canon BP809 & 819 batteries will NOT fit into the charger. Now I have to hassle with trying to return it. I will update the review after I go through that process.
Update 9/21/10 - after wrestling with the charger through many attempts, I finally got a battery to fit. Now I have to test how well it charges.
9/27/10 - I've charged and used the battery several times now. The charger works much faster than the camera for recharge, and the battery slips into the charger much easier. 3 stars is as high as I will rate the product due to the difficulty of getting the battery to fit into the charger initially. I thought I was going to break or bend something pushing so hard.

At first I doubted that the new battery would show charge life on the camera's charge meter, but "not to worry" the camera properly displays the amount of time left on the battery charge. And the charge on this new battery lasts longer than the original Sony battery ever did. This battery is an excellent replacement for an old tired Sony NP-FS11.
